Since the start of his political career, Trump has enjoyed the support of Newt Gingrich.
The former speaker and conservative icon seems to understand Trump like few others.
And even as some Republicans turned their backs on him, Newt continued to stick by 45.
Now, it appears Trump is preparing a new stage in the GOP’s fight to take back the swamp.
And he’s enlisting the help of this celebrated Republican to craft a new contract with America.
With an eye toward winning back the House and Senate in the 2022 midterm elections, former President Donald Trump has begun crafting a policy agenda outlining a MAGA doctrine for the party. His template is the 1994 “Contract with America,” a legislative agenda released ahead of the midterm elections in the middle of President Bill Clinton’s first term. And, as a cherry on top, he’s teaming up with its main architect — Gingrich — to do it.
Donald Trump is enlisting the help of Mark Meadows, Lindsey Graham, and Newt Gingrich to form a new contract to win back Congress.
This updated “Contract with America” will likely embrace America-First policies. It will cover everything from trade to immigration.
And it will impact 2022 “and beyond.”
This could be Republicans’ secret weapon to hitting liberal Washington with the biggest Red Wave since 1994.
Trump has vowed to help the Republican Party retake both the House and Senate in the 2022 midterms.
Republicans are very close to nabbing the House. They gained seats in 2020 as Democrats lost seats.
And with the Senate split at 50/50, it won’t take much to swing the balance back to the right.
But to do that, Republicans need to reach American voters. As so many watch Biden and the Democrats wreck the economy, it’s a prime time for Republicans to grab their attention.
A new “contract” would help make a stark contrast with the GOP’s vision for American, versus Democrats’ failing one.
It won’t seem like they’ll have a hard time doing it. In just a few short months, Biden and his cronies have proven they have no idea what they are doing.
Inflation is spiking. Businesses are struggling to find workers. And Biden is paying people to stay at home.
Meanwhile, the border rages as chaos is brewing overseas.
Now is certainly the time for Newt and Trump to bring some home to the country. They just might be the dynamic duo to turn this ship around.
