It’s no secret that the Biden administration is failing border states by reversing many of Trump’s policies to keep America safe.
As more and more people jump the border, demanding entry and asylum, border states like Texas are forced to carry the brunt of it.
And because of an old Supreme Court ruling, they do not have the power to deport these border jumpers.
So, if Biden won’t do anything about it, Texas will do what they can. And Gov. Abbott made a huge announcement.
From Fox News:
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced his state has allocated $1 billion in its fiscal year budget toward border security, telling “The Ingraham Angle” on Thursday he will use part of that money to resume the construction of the U.S.-Mexico border wall started by Donald Trump but hastily halted by President Biden.
Joe Biden wrecked the border and created a border crisis. Hundreds of thousands of people have rushed the border.
Most of them are slipping through the cracks, posing a threat to Texas communities and the nation beyond.
Because of a Supreme Court ruling from ten years ago, states do not have the authority to deport migrants.
So, Gov. Abbott is doing what he can to discourage them from jumping the border.
He announced that his state will be securing the border, including continuing the border wall started by President Trump.
In addition, the state will increase penalties for crimes like trespassing.
The governor promised the new measures will stop border jumpers in their tracks. Those who cross the border will be apprehended and face up to a year in jail.
It’s clear Abbott is implementing these measures as a way to discourage them from coming at all. He is telling would-be border jumpers that if they come, they won’t be given the red-carpet treatment.
They could look forward to a year in jail.
Texas has been forced to take these measures because Biden has done nothing. The administration is giving money to foreign countries, but refuses to secure the border and deport these people.
At least Texas is doing something about it.
Are you glad Texas will be building the wall again?
