Isn’t odd how Democrats behave? Folks like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi seem to act like good people.
But at the same time, they slander their rivals. Not to mention push a liberal, socialist agenda that hasn’t worked in any country that’s embraced it.
What’s surprising is that both Biden and Pelosi are outspoken Catholics. For years, the church has been letting their increasingly radical positions slide.
Now, things finally might be changing. From Fox News:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hometown bishop is taking a not-so-subtle jab at her and President Biden’s abortion advocacy, arguing that self-identified Catholics should refrain from publicly promoting the practice or face potential exclusion from Holy Communion.
“If you find that you are unwilling or unable to abandon your advocacy for abortion, you should not come forward to receive Holy Communion,” said Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone.
Woah. Pelosi’s own bishop, San Francisco’s Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, said that Democrats like her should not be allowed to take Communion.
The bishop called out public figures who “advocate” pro-choice stances. Which, at this point, includes most of the Democratic Party.
It’s no secret that most Catholics, including priests and bishops, are staunchly pro-life. Many pro-life groups were formed or led by devout Catholics.
Why so many Catholics vote Democrat, is just one of life’s great mysteries (after all, even Catholic JFK didn’t support abortion).
It seems these days, however, the divide between pro-life Catholics and the Democratic Party is getting wider.
Prominent Democrats like Bernie Sanders have openly excluded pro-life liberals from the party. More and more, the party is demanding hard acceptance of being pro-choice.
We shouldn’t be surprised to learn that Catholic leaders are starting to draw a line in the sand over this key issue.
With an archbishop calling out pro-choice Democrats, more Catholics might follow suit. Will we see more Catholics break from the party, to support actual pro-life candidates?
